i am not sure what your question is asking nor whether it was actually the question at original issue. if there are beings in the universe capable of manifesting meaning, then in what way could it be said that the universe has done other than confer such meaning? are you implicitly asking whether the universe is capable of intentionality? perhaps you could clarify.
